Mother Monster’s Blackberry and Apple Charlotte
3-4 slices old bread, cubed
2 eating apples, cored and sliced
100gs brown sugar
Preheat an oven to 180C/350F/Gas mark 4
Core and chop the apples, then in a large pan, melt half the butter and add half the sugar and apples. Cook gently for 5-10 mins until they soften.
Cut the Bread into cubes, and place into an ovenproof dish with the blackberries, lemon peel. Add the apples, and crumb ther rest of the butter over the top. Sprinkle the remainder of sugar over the mixture and place in the oven.
Cook for 25-30 mins, or until Golden Brown
For a firmer result, you can just mix all the ingredients together by hand and oven cook.
Serve with fresh cream or Custard, hot or cold.
